Mental Pascurity

Decisions should not be made in haste. They should be made swiftly and ruthlessly, but never in haste, if you can manage it.

What’s haste?

It’s a mindset.

It’s something you can be lured into, anytime you fail to remain secure in yourself. It’s the aftermath of allowing external factors in to shakedown your mental spirit.

It’s like a robbery. A soft robbery. Maybe one of the softest robberies there is. Folks will come into your brain, scope out the place, and say, “You sure you need that? What’s this for? You like that? You sure? Why? Why? Why?”

Then you doubt yourself. You start asking yourself the same questions. “Yeah what is this for? Do I need that? Well it was part of a bigger thought I haven’t quite untangled yet... but maybe I could share how far I’ve gotten.”

Now you’re giving away more of yourself — which is great! Giving is great, it feels wonderful, everyone loves a giver.

But you were coerced, my friend. If you weren’t feeling secure enough to share that thought out of your own volition, you’re probably not secure enough to handle the feedback you might receive. Or worse yet, the thought of someone taking your idea and interpreting it for themselves.

You know the difference between healthy conversation and unhealthy conversation?

Healthy people.
